set one’s sights on 直譯很像我們中文的「將目光投向於...」...，有決定實現某事、立志、著眼於某個目標的意思。
其他立志、決心去做某事的講法，像是 be determined to，不管怎樣都「不會被任何困難阻止」 ，determined(a.)也可以用來形容意志很堅定的人，例如：She is a very determined person. 她是個意志很堅定的人，另外make up one’s mind對某事做出決定，除了有下定決心，也有「打定主意」的意思，酷粉們可以自行依語意替換。
